DEMON
EYES started in January 1999 as the project of Brent Monson. After
spending time as the guitarist for Chico, CA punk outfit Socially
Pink and bassist for Marysville, CA goth band Blue Monroe, it
was clear that a lot of creativity wasn't being let loose. Unwilling
to stand by and wait for the right people to come by to fill out
a lineup, Brent began writing and recording himself, handling
the duties of guitar, bass, vocals, and drum programming. With
an undying love for bands such as The Misfits, Danzig, Type-O-Negative,
Acid Bath, Samael, and My Dying Bride, a mixture of influences
began taking it's shape. Sounding a little bit metal, but not
exactly, a little bit punk, but not quite, and a little bit goth,
but just too different, these terms are always still on the tip
of the tongue when asked to describe the music. Prefering mostly
to just create a good heavy song, the debut recording of DEMON
EYES and it's nine songs were born.
Quickly
grabbing the attention of all who hear it, Brent had no problem
finding members to complete out a live lineup. With James Secrist
(ex- Sons of Chaos) tackling the vocal duties, Jim Boots coming
around in 'Utunning form to learn "those crazy drum machine
beats" and rounded out by bassist Jules Alcouffe (ex-Blue
Monroe), DEMON EYES is soon to be a live force haunting you more
than it's recordings. The debut recording of DEMON EYES merely
shows a blueprint of what this band is doing. DEMON EYES have
already begun writing and recording together for a new CD of material
including a song of their namesake, DEMON EYES.
